Role Summary/Purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for enterprise wide strategy for IT Infrastructure & Application Automation, Orchestration and Deployment. The responsibilities will also include developing enterprise architecture artifacts, including current state architecture, to be state architecture, architectural roadmaps, referential architecture patterns, and technology standards

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical expertise & guidance to help drive the Cloud Orchestration
  • Work closely with the Internal & external Cloud and Application teams to define and implement a flexible IaaS and PaaS solutions that continues to abstract the IaaS from the PaaS layers through API's
  • Collaborate with other Internal and External Cloud providers to insure a common framework and strategy
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the internal and external on site private IaaS cloud providers
  • Timely engagement with GE Capital partners, vendors, external contacts and other third parties to insure relevance and longevity of the Infrastructure Environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or (or High school diploma/GED and minimum 9 years of IT experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Devops.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration and network administration.
  • 6+ years' experience working in a design capacity on an infrastructures which supports an industry standard distributed technology platform (ie J2EE/JEE, .NET, LAMP)
  • 5+ or more years' experience working with industry standard virtualization and/or cloud platforms (ie VMWare, Xen, Openstack, EC2)

Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Must submit your application for employment through gecareers to be considered (Internals via COS)

  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in New Orleans, LA
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of Service Now integrations and CMDB
  • Understanding of Web Service development (SOAP and REST)
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, PHP, Shell Script, Perl, Python, .NET, etc.
  • Understanding of OS Scripting environments ( Unix (ksh, sh, etc.) ) and Windows (posh)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms/environments/API's - vCloud Director, Eucalyptus, etc.
  • Knowledge of orchestration tools like Service Now RBA, OPSCODE Chef and Ruby
  • Experience as Lead Developer or Architect on large enterprise-level web applications
  • Skill in VMWare, F5, MySQL, Cisco, Juniper, RHEL, Apache, PHP.
  • Skill in Agile Methodologies such as Extreme Programming and/or SCRUM preferred
  • Expert in Linux/Unix administration, specifically Redhat and its derivatives.
  • High energy and passion for DevOps - this role is crucial and you need to be on top of your game.
  • Track record of leveraging contemporary tools and techniques to automate infrastructure provisioning, management and monitoring.
  • Skill in production infrastructure environments housing multi-tenancy datacenters
  • Familiar with application design tools such as Eclipse, NetBeans, Subversion (SVN), CVS, Ant, Maven
  • Familiar with popular Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts
  • Demonstrable competence in programming and Shell Scripting. Experience with Ruby, Java, Perl and/or Python desirable.
