As Senior Java Developer, you will have the opportunity to work within an agile development team to redesign a large strategic platform for retail banking. The platform will integrate with third party web service, online statements, secure authentication and authorization services, and mobile web services as part of enterprise architecture.
Essential Responsibilities: Perform Java web application development using modern Java web application frameworks and libraries such as Spring, Spring Security, Hibernate, Spring MVC, JSP and other view technologies including mobile and tablet.
Assist the product owner by providing daily status updates, aid in story creation, complete tasks, design discussions, troubleshooting technical issues, formal code review, and researching new technologies.
Work with architects, agile manager, business analysts, and product owner to create acceptance test, unit test, and application code using an agile methodology and behavior-driven development.
Maintain peer relationships across IT areas (infrastructure, operations, and quality assurance) to support effective implementations.
Participates in the design, implementation, and update of application-specific blueprints, life-cycle plans, and roadmaps.
Ensure the software solutions are in alignment with the architecture guidelines, security, risk, governance, and compliance policy, principles, and strategy as well as GE standards.
Works with agile team and infrastructure to support continuous integration and automated deployments using Maven, Ant, and other build and deployment tools.
Identify and recommend improvements to the software development process and coding standards.
Pair with development team members to refactor code, review code, and improve code design. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of hands on J2EE/Spring web development experience of medium to large application or in lieu of Bachelor's Degree: High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of information management systems experience including system design, development in either an IT using J2EE/Spring.
