The SQL Server DBA will be part of the GE Capital Operations and Collections IT Application team working out of our new NOLA office. The DBA will work closely with the Application teams on database design, stored procedures and SQL tuning. In this role, the DBA will: Configure, manage and troubleshoot our SQL Server environment, support and apply upgrades and patches to SQL Server, as well as provide schedule and non-scheduled after hour's support.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strong T-SQL Scripting knowledge. Expertise in creating, maintaining and debugging Stored Procedures Perform database administrator activities (Backups, Log Archiving, Maintenance Plans, Index Rebuild/Re-Organize, Update Statistics, etc.) Perform database upgrades and patch administration Monitoring database jobs, queues, space utilization, SQL performance, and etc. Experience with database clustering and HA solutions. DBA support and maintenance of SQL Server environments for production, development and test environments (On-call rotation) Schema design and maintenance Database backup and recovery Ability to explain and document design decisions and their rationales to technical and non-technical audiences Provide technical expertise on SQL server and support to application teams Consult with project management team on application architecture considerations during prioritization of incident resolution, change controls, etc. for release Review and provide input for high-level design, consider impacts on overall application design, and review with development teams Participate in addressing incident root causes, incident resolution and provide direction in problem resolution Provides insight and guidance based on lessons learned and best practices Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of IT experience or 2) in lieu of Bachelor's degree, a High School Diiploma/GED and 4 years of IT experience 2 years of experience working on SQL Server 2005 and above 2 years of experience working with T-SQL and Stored Procedures 2 years of experience in database/application development Eligibility Requirements:
Must be willing to work out of the an office located New Orleans, LA Must be able to provide periodic on-call support on a rotational basis; Frequency will vary based on business need. MUST be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent Ability to travel up to 5%, if applicable.
