The Unix Engineer is responsible for the L3/L4 level support across Capital teams. Deliver results on time and under budget on projects and project tasks in accordance with Capital technology stack standards and in adherence to the project life cycle process, in the Unix technology space. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work across the Capital teams to set standards and to automate execution tasks to gain maximum productivity
  • Assist the Capital teams as a subject matter expert on operational support, patching and maintenance of all Unix environment hardware, operating systems, clustering technologies
  • Assist as level 3/4 in high severity issues as required
  • 24/7 availability when needed Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or high school diploma/GED and minimum 8 years of relevant work experience and 5+ years of Information technology experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in, but not limited to, the following technologies:
  • Unix Kernel expertise, highly familiar with DTrace, Truss and Core File analysis (Unix/Linux)
  • LDOM/zones/VCS/App HA setup and configuration
  • Knowledge of Oracle Sparc and HP x86 hardware
  • ALOM/ILOM/RSC/XSCF remote management interface setup and configuration
  • Programing and Scripting skills (eg Perl, Ruby, different shells, SPARC assembly, etc.)
  • Knowledge of web and Application Server installations, including but not limited to apache, SunOne, GlassFish, Tomcat and JBoss

    Eligibility Qualifications:

  • ITIL, Solaris 8,10 & 11 and different Linux flavors certification
  • Familiarity with Capital businesses processes and infrastructure
