Data Analyst - Web & Intranet Business Intelligence

The Data Analyst will work with internal business and technology stakeholders to produce reports and provide actionable insight into corporate communication Business Intelligence and measurement initiatives. These initiatives require skills related to advanced site traffic analysis, social listening, propagation of media and information via public and internal networks, and sentiment analysis.

He/she will be responsible for utilizing platforms such as Google Analytics, Bit.ly Analytics, and Radian6 to gather and aggregate data into result sets ready to be produced into a final report. This process will include collaboration with internal subject matter experts to assign value and additional insights into emergent trend data.

The Data Analyst is an individual who has a deep affection for and understanding of the Internet and its many actors -Google, W3C, Reddit, Twitter, Jive and all of the users and administrators in between.

Responsibilities:
- Create analysis reports and/or result sets using Excel and/or Powerpoint as dictated by the project
- Craft queries and keyword sets on platforms such as Google Analytics, Radian6, and Facebook Analytics
- Manage the operational implementation and integration of multiple data sets and data assets as well as advise and consult on procuring new assets as they become available or a need is identified
- Consult with editorial and social business stakeholders in order to support reporting of key metrics to stakeholders
- Consult with MIS on technology concerns, integration projects, and file support tickets as needed to fix or change data acquisition, computation and analysis components

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Proficiency with Google Analytics. Experience with Omniture, Core Metrics and/or Web Trends a plus
- Proficiency with Radian6, Datasift, and other common social analysis platforms, tools, and data
- Proficiency with Excel for data analysis purposes
- Familiarity with how a digital business communicates through common content channels (marketing sites, product sites, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, & LinkedIn)
- Deep interest in data and analysis as key method in determining success of business outcomes
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with quick turn-around times
- Strong attention to detail
Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years experience producing and creating web/social trend
reports
- Intimate knowledge of and personal experience with traditional web and social network dynamics (how does a post on a seemingly low-profile blog end up being the most re-tweeted link pertaining to said topic within a few hours)
- Intimate knowledge of the logistics and human resources necessary to manage websites of varying sizes, traffic, and types (how can this blog that gets 10k unique pageviews a month better drive traffic given it's current traffic patterns vs. what factors are affecting the bounce rate on a trial sign-up page)
- Deep desire to mine digestible nuggets of insight from unruly and complex systems
