Responsibilities:
Serve as the Product Lead for new digital products, responsible for developing, launching and managing new digital products.
Responsible for the P&L and product direction, from concept to launch to ongoing product management.
Work as part of a cross-functional news and business team to: identify consumer needs and potential product solutions; prototype, test and build these solutions; develop a go-to-market plan including product positioning, marketing and success benchmarks; leverage analytics, user testing and multivariate testing to drive insights and decision making; own and manage the product roadmap for new digital products on an ongoing basis.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree and MBA required.
- 7+ years of experience in product management or product marketing with an emphasis on partnering with technical staff within a consumer-facing media company.
- Track record of developing and launching new products.
- Existing industry network with access to emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Work effectively in a global, virtual and matrixed environment.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with deep understanding of the internet, and online journalism, media and/or advertising space.
- A passion for building user centric-products and for The New York Times.
