Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for an IT Project Manager/Coordinator to join our client in Rome, New York.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required as a condition for employment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all project activities which may be within or across cross functional areas.
- Define project scope, deliverables and roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.
- Ensures creation, identification, prioritization and sign off of business requirements.
- Get stakeholder approval and commitment for project plan.
- Manage stakeholder communication.
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project.
- Manage project timelines and provide status.
- Work with outside vendors such as Cisco and Dell to obtain quotes. Validate quotes and ensure product compliance with DoD requirements.
- Assures project planning and financial monitoring - coordination of cost estimates; resource planning and management, identification of and securing of resources.
- Decides on methodology for modifications, conversion and implementation.
- Confirms achievement of objectives, verifies and documents project results to formalize acceptance by the sponsor.
- Coordinates production and post-implementation tasks, and project review/"lessons learned".
- Ensures proper transition to production support team and impacted business areas.
Job Qualifications:
- Documented project coordination/management experience and proven ability to handle scope creep. Attention to detail.
- Good Verbal and written skills.
- Experience with translation of business requirements for IT.
- Experience in vendor relations, purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of IT technology (Information Assurance, Networking and System Administration) and ability to plan, engineer, and integrate IT systems.
- Technical understanding of IT enterprise and Network systems and the ability to design to improve quality/efficiency of services.
- Five to eight (5-8) years in an IT environment with a focus on networking/infrastructure.
- Two to three (2-3) years leading IT Projects.
- Strong experience with advance features of MS Project, Excel, Visio and Word.
- CompTIA Project+ certification within 3 months of date of hire.
- Previous DoD/Government experience with knowledge of budgeting and acquisition strategies.
- Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously.
- Strong team working skills.
- Able to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:00 to 5:00 PM.
Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- PMP Certification.
- A degree in Computer Science and seven (7) plus years of experience performing similar tasks.
- Electrical knowledge to determine electrical needs based on equipment used.
- Experience building data centers. Experience in change management a definite plus to get user and stakeholder buy-in.
