Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test cases based on software requirements.
• Write test plans identifying the project's testing activities and approach.
• Execute manual and automated test plans to validate software functionality and user documentation.
• Analyze results (documentation issues, setup issues, software bugs, etc.)
• Report and track defects resulting from the test effort in a bug tracking tool.
• Work with software developers and other team members to help reproduce and root-cause any issues found.
• Document deviations to procedures.
• Provide status reports to project Test Lead.

SKILLS

Must have demonstrated abilities in case and test plan development. Experience with writing test cases and developing test scenarios, as well as performing manual testing and providing documentation for tracking software defects required. Working knowledge of Word and Excel, Outlook needed, as is working knowledge of various testing methodologies and software development life cycles. Must be task oriented and focused, with attention to detail accuracy. Must be reliable with excellent interpersonal, coordination and verbal/written communication skills. Candidates with a background and experience in testing Embedded devices/systems are preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Computer Science program are preferred. C, C++, C# programming experience is a plus.
