Prestigious Retail Firm in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a Senior Oracle EBS Architect. Individual must be a true architect and have recent R12 experience. As an Oracle EBS Technical Architect in the Global Financials Solutions team, collaborate with Corporate Technical Architecture team for the ongoing design and development of the Technical Architecture to ensure the successful implementation and integration of Oracle EBS R12 globally.
Specifically:
- Develop and maintain the Technical Architecture blue print for technical teams to develop and deliver a technical EBS foundation that is built on proven standards resulting in robust, high performing and scalable application
- Perform hands-on technical design and development tasks as required in support of the System Architecture development and enhancements
- Drive continuous Systems Architecture improvements based on evolving and proven solutions that results in operational efficiencies in supporting, maintaining and rolling-out Oracle EBS The Individual
Responsibilities Technology Development, Delivery, and Support
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the business area and applies technical expertise to determine appropriate solutions to meet the customer needs and technical standards (build, buy, enhance, modify)
- Within project area, takes a leadership role in providing comprehensive support, consulting and direction to business clients to help analyze and/or solve their business needs.
- Provides subject matter expertise to other teams
- Analyzes change requests to determine feasibility in relation to existing business requirements, processes, and data models
- Works with project leadership in determining design approach, estimating/planning, setting technical direction, and identifying necessary resources for a project
- Interfaces with vendors to understand whether vendor products will meet business and technical requirements.
Technology Standards Development
- Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc., for Oracle EBS Technical Architecture. Shares knowledge of specialty areas/best practices across the enterprise.
- Evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting business and I.S. strategic needs.
- Works to establish new architecture building block standards and guidelines as needed: Builds the business case, and determines common application architectural framework and patterns.
- Provides input into the enterprise-wide infrastructure target state for Oracle EBS.
- Collaborates with Enterprise Architects in other architectural areas to ensure comprehensive/cohesive working solutions are developed across architectures.
- Stays up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to infrastructure architecture issues.
Technology Standards Implementation
- Consults with key stakeholders across multiple projects regarding the usage and application of architectural/infrastructure standards for their technology specialty.
- Assists customers with understanding how to approach a variance to architectural/infrastructure standards.
- Assumes a leadership role in ensuring that new and existing applications abide by current architectural standards.
- Assesses the cost implications and operational impact of a variance from standards and issues an approved variance from standards as needed.
- Conducts audits of proposed infrastructure designs to ensure adherence to current architectural standards.
- Conducts audits during the build out of the infrastructure to track and document any design changes that occur during build out. Determines severity of deviations from architectural design and escalates to appropriate parties as needed.
- Designs and Delivers proof-of-concept for new or improved enterprise-wide infrastructure technologies that are used across multiple areas of the business (eg, desktop operating systems, directory synchronization, company E-mail, etc.).
People/Relationship Management
- May participate in the interviewing process for new team members.
- Builds strong relationships between teams within I/S and between I/S and related business teams.
- Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.
- Provides technical mentoring to Project, Program, and/or Process Team Members.
Minimum Requirements
- Over 5 years of technical background in implementing Oracle ERP Applications
- 1- 3 years of EBS R12 experience with specific focus on Financial Suite
- Understanding of deploying EBS under a Global Single Instance architecture that is integrated with OBIEE, Hyperion and Legacy applications
- Experience in designing EBS extensions and establishing application development standards (Forms, Reports, SQL, PL/SQL and Workflows)
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of cross functional and cross vendor teams, and deliver to aggressive timelines
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert with excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, task and project management skills
- Global Experience and Prior Consulting Experience a plus.
