The Senior Data Warehouse Architect works within the Business Intelligence group, providing deep technical expertise in database design, hands-on ETL development, and hands-on Front End reporting tool universe development. The Senior Data Warehouse Architect designs, develops and maintains all DW components

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads the discussion with the business on new reporting and analysis
• Coordinates with business unit BI analysts to understand business and reporting requirements to translate these needs into efficient data, and develops programs and software. Integration, extraction, and transformation processes between operational systems and the DW.
• Coordinates with other technical teams within IT to extend DW subject areas, as well as to share and disseminate data throughout the enterprise.
• Provides thought leadership in DW schema and database performance tuning. Additionally, understands how the Front End reporting tool influences these aspects.
• Responsible for the structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements, as well as the application of accepted standards to data warehouse projects.
• Ensure the BI environment is scalable, extensible, and supportable for the future.
• Research, analyze, design, propose, and deliver solutions that are appropriate for the enterprise and the technical strategies.
• Responsible for business analysis, data acquisition, access analysis and design.
• Develop, implement, and maintain data models and database designs to build data warehouses, data marts, as necessary.
• Utilize Oracle, Talend, Business Objects.
• Optimize data access and data loading techniques.
• Functions as second-tier support and management to business unit BI analysts, providing guidance and data analysis that is beyond their technical capability or reach.
• Adheres to established project implementation and development guidelines and standards.
• Dedicated to completing assigned tasks and high-quality deliverables under deadline.
• Proactively learns and applies new technologies and programming languages as required.

Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of experience in the DW/BI environment.

• 7-10 years of experience implementing operational (OLTP) and dimensional (OLAP) logical and physical design for Data Marts, Data Warehouses and Business intelligence solutions.
• 3+ years of experience in Oracle Warehouse Builder.
• 3+ years of experience in Talend.
• 3+ years of experience in Business Objects universe design and reporting.
• Data analysis and modelling at the enterprise level.
• Ability to work concurrently on multiple complex and sometimes ambiguous problems.
• Understanding of overall BI solutions, strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures, database life cycle design and application development.
• Ability to develop 3NF and Dimensional data architecture, integrate, manage and promote physical data models and data model standards that source data from multiple origins (internal data sources, external data sources, third party data, etc.).
• Extensive experience with Oracle. Knowledge of database internals: partitioning, indices, star schema, optimization, materialized views, and parallel queries.
• Advanced skills in writing, troubleshooting and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, table structures, and triggers.
• Ability to perform at the highest level of proficiency in utilizing tools and applications to complete assignments (eg, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Talend, Business Objects).
• Experience designing data extraction.
• Experience leading analysis sessions to capture data requirements.
• Experience solving data challenges such as duplicate, non-conformed, and unclean data.
• Ability to conduct quality control/auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
• Experience mentoring team members in the use of tools, systems and best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
