QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or communications. One to three years' experience in communications or public affairs including public relations, mass media, or publicity, preferably in the public or nonprofit sector. Ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information, and recommend courses of action to be taken. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Software preferred. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills and experience with graphic design and/or video production.
Valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable transportation. Ability to work flexible hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES
:
In coordination with the Communications team, responsible to raise awareness of Summit DD and increase the acceptance of individuals with developmental disabilities in Summit County through public relations, community awareness, and special events. Maintains Agency's positive reputation. Also responsible for internal employee communication.
Assists Communications Manager in the development and implementation of internal and external communications strategies using various platforms (including social media) targeted to public, employees, providers, persons served, families. Works with Communications manager to ensure the consistency of communications throughout the Agency. Gathers data and writes articles of interest concerning the Board for publication in internal and external newsletters, blogs, and other media platforms. Takes photos and videos of Agency events, oversees photo/video release process. Respond verbally and/or in writing to requests and inquiries from general public, public officials, governmental agencies. Assists in the planning and execution of special events. Assists in the design of agency brochures, newsletters, and marketing materials utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.
Maintains agency website and other social media platforms. Maintains relationships with outside vendors to ensure project delivery within desired time frames. Must follow safety and health rules and regulations, including, but not limited to, OSHA standards. Performs other related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
