Based out of Yellow Springs, OH, we are a leading healthcare analytics firm. We provide data analytics that address clinical, administrative, and reimbursement concerns which enable organizations and facilities to pro-actively convert their data into meaningful, measurable action. We are seeking to hire an experienced Software Developer who will work as a member of the SCRUM team to develop and test software components.
What you need for this position:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or relevant experience, Master's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience with relational database management systems, web applications and Object Oriented development design.
- Experience with Java, PHP, Ruby, and ASP.NET
- Experience with Linux Operating System
- Work experience in healthcare IT preferred.
- Software design and development in MVC framework
- Test driven development principles, tools and techniques
- Web application and Object Oriented Design principles.
- Cucumber testing tools, including a strong working knowledge of feature files and step definitions.
- Unit testing using test driven development and automated testing tools and techniques.
- Data warehouse design and implementation.
- Statistical analysis of test results.
- Strong ability to consult effectively, communicate proactively and work in a collaborative environment that includes non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
- Work as a member of the SCRUM team to develop and test software components that are defect free upon release and consistent with our product architecture and design.
- Code PHP applications within (MVC) framework
- Ensure maintainability by utilizing Test driven development principles with PHP Unit.
- Refactor code as necessary to ensure scalability when appropriate.
- Communicate with Product Owner to gain understanding of acceptance criteria
- Create Cucumber feature files and step definitions to verify understanding
- Research specification and customer feedback in order to make design decisions
- Verify product acceptability
- Execute tests to ensure standards
- Plan relational database design and programming in decision support applications
- Respond to internal/external requests
- Work on items prioritized by the product owner
- Ensure Product Owner is informed of product features size and delivery forecast as necessary
- Must be available 24/7 as part of the on-call rotation
