JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is hiring for a software engineer for the Glenn Engineering and Scientific Support contract as Glenn Research Center. The person selected would be part of the GESS Team developing the Power, Avionics, and Software (PAS) subsystem for the Advanced Extra-Vehicular Mobility Unit (AEMU).
The work includes developing software for Command Handling and Telemetry on the audio and radio processing boards. The software developed will run on ARM-based processors and is expected to use Google Protocol Buffers ans ZeroMQ open source software for formating and delivery of telemetry data streams. These boards are part of the larger PAS envirnoment from which and to which the boards will communicate, including soft and hardware switch input.
Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 7+ years related experience.
Experience using C, Linux OS, Embedded platforms and TI OMAP processors. Experience with networking and Etherner communication protocols. Experience with Google Protocol Buffers ans ZeroMQ open source software is desired.
