Job Description: Engineering (Test) Journeyman

Position Summary:

-Defines, documents, analyzes, performs, and interprets developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
-Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
-Provides technical support and advice to other engineering groups.
-Guides and directs lower level personnel on the set-up and performance of tests.
-Acts as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items.
-Devises and applies testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors.
-Participates in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

-Participate in the Integrated Test Team for the Tactical Air Control Party Close Air Support System (TACP CASS)
-Participate in the Data Review Board (DRB).
-Conduct Contractor Test to ensure compliance with System Requirement Document (SRD) and Software System Specification (SWSS) including unit tests, system tests, stress tests, load tests, HMI tests, network tests, database tests, disk input/output tests, memory tests, and test-to-break events.
-Conduct end-to-end testing to verify software/hardware/firmware integration at the component and system level, including all TACP platforms and aircraft Operational Flight Plans (OFPs).
-Develop test plans and test descriptions for the execution of all formal CT, formal contractor integration, and fielding test activities.
-Provide support Government Operational/Developmental Test.
-Conduct and participate in Test Readiness Reviews.
-Conduct Regression Testing.
-Write Software Test Reports and propose corrective action for each issue/discrepancy.
-Provide Mobile Training Team (MTT) and over the shoulder training at Government Test and Operational Test/Force Development Exercise OT/FDE

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

-Digital communications and messaging

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

-Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline.
-Experience with Close Air Support.
