Skills: 8-12 years as an Oracle DBA
Length: 3-6 months
Responsibilities:
As the Oracle DBA, you will be the go-to person for all administration of our 11i and Application Server 10g clients. This activity includes the primary responsibility of the day-to-day DB maintenance and operation of Oracle 10g environments to include performance diagnosis and tuning, operations monitoring, application tuning, query tuning, troubleshooting, and application-level change control migration.
You will also be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Support multiple Oracle instances and Discoverer 10g administration
- Identify and install all upgrades and patching fixes
- Interact with Oracle technical support
- Support database clean-up, archiving, and architecture efforts
- Manage day-to-day communication with Linux, NT, and network administrators
- Identify opportunities to improve the application support process and administration
- Anticipate upcoming Oracle releases or bug fixes
- Take action to incorporate into planning and communication (including patch analysis and installation)
