Req# 138304BR Position Title Network Planner III Position Summary
Designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signalling. Conducts network architecture design and feasibility and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. Conducts studies to determine impacts on network capacity and development plan projections. Plans and conducts planning summits to refine requirements, dependencies, constraints, and milestones into executable deployment plans and schedules. Manages across organizational divisions to develop deployment plans and schedules. Analyzes impacts of other network projects and on-going deployment on deploying new capacity, including timing and resource. Identifies and drives organizational and process improvements to enhance planning and deployment performance.
Expectations include:
- Contributing heavily to business plans and operational plans for the voice network and services
- Provide leadership to work cross functionally to build business cases and analysis depending on input from Engineering, Development, Operations, and vendor resources.
- Develop the Plan of Record (PoR) for all voice technologies to include business justification and requirements
- Demonstrated experience as subject matter expert in the current Sprint voice infrastructure spanning across Long Distance, Wireless, and IMS functionality
- Proven history of leading others and contributing to cross-functional teams in a leadership capacity A good understanding of the business case creation process Ability to think big picture and contribute to strategic decisions
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
- Three years' network planning work experience
- Three years' experience with project management and project implementation
