Technical Support Engineer I

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer I to join our client in Overland Park, KS.

Job Responsibilities:
- Providing advanced technical support; solving complicated technical issues associated with daily surveillance, operations, and repair for the ALU CDMA network.
- Coordinate and facilitate means to advance control center employees core competencies commensurate with employee pay grade across all shifts through implementation of processes and/or technical training.
- Act as liaison between Tier I and Tier III organizations, and internal or external organizations to ensure timely transition of fix and maintenance activities for Service Assurance organizations.
- Manage the vendor for root cause analysis and irreversible corrective action.
- Become a subject matter expert on most aspects of the ALU wireless platform.
- Participate in lab and project work as new functionality and services are added to the network.
- Ensure quality document content (Method of Procedures (MOP), job aids, and process improvements) to increase network availability and reduce mean-time-to-restore (MTTR).
- TierII technical support team that will assist tier III in all TS1 and TS2 events as well as provide technical expertise when tier I as exhausted all known restoration activities.

Job Qualifications:
- The candidate should have two to five (2-5) years network management or engineering experience and experience in a leadership role.
- Ability to work flexible shifts during non-business hours
- Willing to be available 7x24 for on-call assignments
- A degree in Telecommunications or something similar is preferable.
- Knowledge or experience with Alcatel-Lucent equipment is a good skill to have: 5E. ECP, EVDO RNCs, OMP, 7750 IP Aggregator Routers.
- Strong knowledge in TCP/IP and network protocols.
- A certification on Cisco (ie CCNA) or on the ALU 7750 Routers (Network Router Specialist/NRS) will be a good qualification for the job.
- People management skills essential.
