Telecom Design Engineer II, Sprint Nextel Corp., Overland Park, KS



Requirement gathering, design, initial testing, development and deployment of Samsung CDMA/EVDO Radio Access Network (RAN) Infrastructure as part of Sprint Network Vision Initiative. Generate Performance Analysis Reports for CDMA/EVDO and QCHAT for various field integration tests (FIT) which includes post processing of field data and Operational Measurement (OM) data analysis. Develop OMs & Call Detail Logs (CDLs) for RAN Performance Monitoring & Optimization. Develop Flux and Reveal tools for Samsung RAN which help in Monitoring the RAN Performance. Evaluate and develop features in partnership with OEMs to analyze options for EVDO, 3G Voice and LTE interworking. Participate in Development, Testing and Execution of Inter technology (3g/4g) mobility RAN features such as ECSFB (Enhanced Circuit Switch Fall Back). Leverage knowledge of OEM vendor features, parameter settings, algorithm implementation to develop new features and recommend parameter changes to improve network performance and customer experience.

Basic Qualifications


Requires: MS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering plus 3 years of related experience. In the alternative, employer will accept BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering plus 5 years of related experience. Experience should include: RF engineering hardware and feature development and RF engineering field and lab testing; Field Integration Testing(FIT) which involves Feature testing and OM Monitoring; in RF link budget analysis; use of relevant tools including: QXDM, QCAT, QPST, QLAT, Windcatcher, PlanetEV, Flux, Falcon, Reveal, Invex3G, Xcal-X, Actix, Synergy, MapInfo, Microsoft office, Microsoft Streets and Trips, Microsoft Visio 2007, SQL. Expertise in: Analyzing Operational Measurement Data and Call Detail Logs; using Network Data collection and Post Processing tools; RF capacity analysis.
