Job Title: Sr. IT Business Analyst

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Senior IT Business Analyst will be instrumental in ensuring that business objectives are achieved by methodically aligning the necessary changes to business processes, roles and responsibilities, skills, and information systems. To accomplish this, the Senior IT Business Analyst will perform the following functions:

- Lead teams in performing early-stage business case, feasibility and organizational readiness assessment as input to project approval decision
- Lead teams in performing business analysis activities that ensure required, value-add changes to business processes, roles and responsibilities, and system functions are documented, tracked and realized
- Establish best practices and tools as key subject matter expert
- Audit consulting partner activities and deliverables to ensure quality practices are employed

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

1. The Senior IT Business Analyst will lead teams of 5 to 15 people to perform the following:

Work with the requesting business organization, project manager, enterprise architect, and organizational change management leader to perform early-stage business case, feasibility and organizational readiness assessment to ensure sufficient return on investment and resources are available to successfully complete the project and perform ongoing business operations.
3. Guide teams in understanding the end-to-end business analysis process, roles and expectations in performing activities throughout the lifecycle of the project. Apply a structured approach and industry-proven methodology.
4. Work with the project manager and team in clearly identifying business objectives, desired outcomes, and project scope. Create and maintain business analysis portion of the project plan.
5. Document current and future state business processes, roles and responsibilities, and information systems requirements. Identify gaps, select and prioritize required, value-add changes.
6. Employ tools such as a business process catalog and requirements traceability Matrix to track deliverables and progress made towards realizing changes to business processes, roles and responsibilities, skills, and information systems.
7. Work with the organizational change management lead to integrate activities that ensure stakeholder buy-in and active participation on the project, and adoption of changed business processes, roles and responsibilities, and information systems.
8. Employ Use Cases or similar tools to document details of business process steps and information systems requirements
9. Work with the quality assurance lead to transition defined requirements to the test plan and scenarios
10. Lead teams in identifying proven industry-standard practices and relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Establish targeted, move-the-needle performance improvements and relate these back to required changes in business processes, practices, and information systems.
11. Perform Lean Analysis to identify opportunities for improving business processes and information systems
12. Establish and maintain standard business analysis practices and tools across the global IT organization. Participate on a global team, as a key contributor, to establish standard practices and tools across the company.
13. Provide oversight and audit function to 3rd party business analysts, ensuring quality practices are followed

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

5+ years demonstrable experience leading teams through the business analysis process, best practices and in using tools

5+ years experience leading and performing lean analysis, business cases, use cases, requirements management, test plans and scenarios

Undergraduate degree in Information Systems or Business, or equivalent experience

Certification in Lean Analysis and experience with Use Cases preferred

International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification a plus

Experience with Value Management, KPIs and move the needle initiatives a plus
