Yoh has a contract opportunity for an Inspection and Quality Lead II to join our client in Allentown, PA.
Duration: Approximately 24 months.
Pay Range: Up to $ 31.02 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- This position will support the GEM Quality team. Primary responsibilities will include:
- To work with Project Development Engineering providing inspection required, engineering man hours and T&L cost input in bidding estimation.
- Work with project team to create the Project Inspection Plan and coordinate among the Inspection team and assign the 3rd party inspection resources to effectively manage and carry out the inspection plan.
- To assess inspection activities to define the critical items, supplier performance and set the appropriate level and scope of inspection; to judge and sanction inspection waivers when criticality is sufficiently low.
- To review the inspection report issued by the 3rd party inspectors and other in house inspectors to identify the gaps and follow up for improvement.
- To assess/record inspection results, resolve non-conformance's and implement effective preventive action when appropriate.
- To generate the project specific budgets in line with overall departmental budget and then manage activities to ensure ongoing compliance; reviewing/amending inspection budgets in the light of revised information as appropriate.
- To chair pre-inspection meetings and negotiate the most advantageous position for AP inspection activities.
- To liaise with UK/US/China Quality Managers and engineers to get proper support in developing China capabilities and managing the supplier quality.
- Providing regular inspection report to communicate and share the occurred supplier equipment quality issues and highlight the foreseeing potential issues with E&M and project execution team so as to take appropriate actions to manage the issues at the early stage.
- To maintain and update Inspection Guideline and ensure the working process is properly followed.
- Perform supplier Quality Systems audits and provide support for supplier Quality Systems improvements.
- Develop improvement plan with Matrix; solve technical problems as they relate to supplier quality.
Job Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of the methods/sequences used in the production of engineered equipment/products.
- General understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and code requirement.
- Certified as ISO9001 auditor and experience with supplier audits.
- Strong organization skills and good attention to detail.
- Must be able to command the use of Office 2007 with respect to Microsoft Words, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
- Candidate may be required to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds, bend/stoop, squat, crawl/kneel, blimb, reach about shoulder, push/pull - estimated 33% of the time. FFD will detail the requirement to perform other work activities as well; wearing protective equipment, etc.
- Ideally possess five to six (5 - 6) years of work experience in a manufacturing, supplier quality, continuous improvement environment or have Associate's degree with five (5) years of related work experience.
