The preferred location for this position is Horsham, PA; alternatively this position can be based in Raritan or Titusville, NJ with frequent travel to Horsham, PA.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the portfolio of programs/projects which reside in the assigned areas of the Scientific Affairs COE and Medical Affairs. The incumbent will work collaboratively with others in the department to ensure the internal and external customer's needs are met from a systems standpoint. The incumbent will be responsible to deliver programs/projects on time and perform at the most effective and efficient level in order to meet both internal and external customer's needs. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure compliance with current regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines. Together with the Director, Solutions Portfolio Management, the incumbent will formulate strategies to optimize the operations of Scientific and Medical Affairs utilizing innovative approaches to enhance the business capabilities of Scientific/Medical Affairs personnel.
Responsibilities of the position include the following:
50% - Program/Project Management of all systems projects for the assigned area within NAPSA. Clearly articulate the business requirements/scenarios to associates and business partners and identifies and facilitate the resolution of any potential issues impacting the business. Drive innovative approaches using new or existing processes and systems. Work with business owners to present new ideas to drive business efficiency and effectiveness.
30% - Manage all functions of the supported systems, including maintenance, training, troubleshooting, and testing. Continually analyze systems performance and operating efficiency. Resolve all escalated problems with end-users and systems software/hardware to ensure uninterrupted usage. Work with IT and vendors to resolve systems and applications issues. Analyze and report impact of infrastructure and systems changes (eg, future releases of Windows, Microsoft products, new J&J standards, etc.) on current systems. Design and implement training programs for system usage. Develop and maintain system training manuals.
20% - Stay abreast of innovative technology and trends which would improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency and evaluate opportunities.
Candidate must work with internal and field-based Scientific Affairs and Medical Affairs professionals, and individuals who manage information from other J&J departments. Will often need to present status updates to senior management. In addition, collaboration is necessary between this individual and IT associates to ensure technology utilized is consistent with overall company directives and plans.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required. Program and/or Project Management experience of digital/web related projects is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience with customer facing websites is required. Familiarity with Healthcare and Regulatory Compliance is preferred. PMP Certification is preferred.
Ability to think strategically about technology and business processes and determine new solutions to improve overall efficiency. Ability to develop project plans and lead a project from inception to implementation. Ability to work with business owners and suggest alternative solutions when necessary and appropriate. Thorough understanding of business processes and management of work-flows. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to write communications for a variety of audiences. Ability to build strong partnerships with all levels across the organization, as well as to interact effectively with senior management. Understanding of regulatory and health care compliance guidelines with regards to systems. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project and Adobe Acrobat desirable.
