Responsible for providing ongoing support of all systems in support of internal and external applications including security.  

The Systems Administrator will evaluate and recommend solutions; plan and execute implementation. The scope of these tasks will include ensuring proper use, configuration, and management of hardware, operating systems and applications with the objective of providing robust and stable operating platforms. Develop, monitor, and enforce security policies. Ensure proper controls are designed into systems. Monitor emerging threats and assess risks. Apply O.S. patches and upgrades. 

Job will also support teaching technology in labs and classrooms, and may also provide support and analysing assistance for faculty, staff, and student users.  

Must have experience with VMWare. Must also have a strong knowledge of vCenter, programming skills using VBScript, MS SQL, and other languages. The Systems Administrator must be familiar with standard privacy, security, communications, and systems management protocols. 

Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

This is a fixed-term appointment funded through June 30, 2014 with excellent possibility of re-funding.
