Position Description:
Participate in the data acquisition efforts associated with the enterprise risk management grouped focused on risk aggregation. The role will include the following responsibilities
The qualified candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the ability to facilitate analysis and issue resolution across multiple systems and groups. Evaluates options for meeting data sourcing needs and ensures that system requirements are identified, prioritized and incorporated in an effective, efficient manner.
The Data Analyst assists in the analysis and documentation of complex databases and other data sources supporting the Tax Transformation project. Diagram data acquisition processes and data workflows.
Organize data acquisition work and deliverables and integrate/synthesize broad and diverse inputs and large amounts of information to formulate cohesive data requirements to serve as the basis for the business data analysts.
Produce systemic data profiling requirements and lead the data profiling analysis. Compile data profile results and document for downstream use by the business data analysis and scenario calculation streams.
Assist in the design and overall data integration processes and architecture
- Provide testing and other quality assurance services
- Development/update of data warehouse documentation and standard procedures, including data flow diagrams to demonstrate source, transformation and target
Assisting the Data Architect and DBA in the development and maintenance of atomic, aggregates, external hierarchies, indexes, and other database objects.
Supporting cross-platform development, integration with data transformation, security, job scheduling, database loading tools, and source code control and release management/configuration management tools.
Position Requirements
Must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
5-7 years of experience in defining, designing and implementing data acquisition projects within large data warehouse environments.
3+ years' of experience using E/Rwin modeling tool. Workgroup release 8 is preferred.
3+ years' experience writing PL SQL queries, Windows and/or Unix scripting
Ability to source data from different source systems (flat file, RDBMS, SAP R/3)
Strong database analysis skills
Solid knowledge with relational databases and with ETL tools (AbInitio, Infosphere/Datastage)
Must be self-motivated, independent, resourceful and a demonstrated team member who is capable of being objective and giving/taking constructive feedback
Flexibility and adaptability to fit the needs of the project, making progress despite ambiguity
Ability to work within existing processes, but able to understand and define where new, different or abridged processes should be used
Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as events warrant
Ability to work across group boundaries and forge cross-functional relationships
Experienced and skilled user of office productivity tools such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project Server.
