Position Description:

As a Data Modeler, the candidate will be part of a team responsible for the detailed design of Tax Transformation related initiatives and data warehouse supporting the Global Tax department. The output will be a logical model and the entities and attributes required to implement both operational systems and a data warehouse.

• Model the reference data and meta data supporting both operational and a warehouse.
• Attribute the dimensions defined by the requirements phase.
• Model the staging layer receiving data from at least three major subsidiaries.
• Model the aggregation layer supporting reporting requirements and the major applications.
• Model the application specific star schemas as subject areas within the data warehouse.

Position Requirements
Experience Required:

• 5+ years building enterprise logical data models.
• 3+ years building data warehouse models.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong E/Rwin modelling skills. Workgroup release 8 is preferred.
• Experience using subject areas, dimension analysis and naming standards to organize
  models and keep them understandable is crucial.
• Experience in data exchange with E/Rwin through the Bulk Editor is required. Import and export from the IBM Information Workbench is preferred.
• Experience in using the team functions such as merging models and resolving relationship conflicts is required.
• Familiarity with SAP BI terms such as DSO, Information Source, Characteristic and their definition of Meta Data is desirable. You do not have to have experience in building a SAP BI warehouse, but you have to be able to talk to SAP BI developers.
• Familiarity with the IBM Business Glossary is desirable.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
• The ability to work with business analysts and more technical business users to discover the full attribute set for entities and dimensions is required.
• The ability to work with business analysts and report developers to find the right data in the model is required.
• The ability to document decisions made in meetings and alternative solutions discussed is required.
• Evaluates options for meeting data sourcing needs and ensures that system requirements are identified, prioritized and incorporated in an effective, efficient manner.
• Lead in the design and overall data integration processes and architecture.
• Drive the analysis, design, and documentation of complex databases and other data sources supporting the Tax Transformation initiatives.
• Diagram data acquisition processes and data workflows.
• Organize data acquisition work and deliverables and integrate/synthesize broad and diverse inputs and large amounts of information to formulate cohesive data requirements.
• Produce systemic data profiling requirements and lead the data profiling analysis.
• Compile data profile results and document for downstream use by the business data analysis and scenario calculation streams.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the ability to facilitate analysis and issue resolution across multiple systems and groups.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and succinctly, complex design and technical issues, as well as business and product requirements
