Quality Assurance Project Lead
Lead the testing efforts of a team of Quality Assurance engineers for our flagship Scientific & Scholarly Research platform. Ensure the quality of Thomson Reuter's products by providing leadership in defining and improving core processes, managing projects, and hiring and developing staff. Develop a clear understanding of the business and technical aspects of the quality assurance function in order to support the entire organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Lead a team of 3-7 QA engineers as well as onshore and offshore contract resources on projects from high-level concept to deployment.
-Ensure the development and maintenance of test strategies, test plans, test cases, and product release reports. Will include authoring some documents and providing review and oversight of others.
-Manage multiple projects with minimal guidance, including delegating tasks, managing schedules for the QA team, and determining project resource requirements.
-Work closely with the QA Technical team with prioritization of automation, and building and maintaining of QA test environments and tools.
-Ensure that QA staff follows the established process for defect tracking and reporting.
-Coordinate on project goals with other managers, including Development, Configuration Management, Product Management, Project Management, and Editorial.
-Research, evaluate, and recommend test tools.
-Write justification documents and prepare proposals, which may include requests for capital expenditure or additional employees.
-Establish and maintain productive relationships with Development and other applicable departments.
-Accurately allocate staff within the time tracking tool and ensure that staff report time in accordance with company deadlines.
-Provide weekly status reports.
-Ensure that QA staff follows the Proposition Development Methodology.
-Conduct training and mentoring with staff members.
-Assist staff with defining and building career development plans.
-Take part in interviewing process and recommend candidates for hire.
-Provide primary input to performance reviews, recommend candidates for promotions, manage performance improvement plans. Provide input for compensation evaluations and recommend adjustments for staff.
-Stay abreast of new technologies, developments, and industry standards in the Quality Assurance field.
-Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational and planning skills
- In-depth experience with advanced and multiple testing methodologies
- Understanding of automation approaches, processes, and tools
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior staff, and internal or external customers
- Knowledge of multiple platforms
- Have an understanding of relational database concepts, technologies and tools
- Effective leadership and mentoring skills
- Proficient at presenting information in a formal manner
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in time-critical situations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
-5 or more years experience in software testing or quality assurance position
-2 or more years leading quality assurance projects or teams
-Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience in related field
