JOB SUMMARY:
The Technology Services Division of the Arizona State Retirement System is seeking a motivated individual to join its DBA group. The candidate should be skilled in all activities involving the agency’s enterprise databases.
THE POSITION DUTIES include:
- Participating in departmental policies for DBA functions covering the entire life cycle of application development and production support
- Participating in tactical service plans for business units and service areas
- Coordinating all business/developer requests for database development
- Creating department goals based upon overall division and agency goals
- Performance tuning of databases and application systems
- Working with developers and testers on in-house application systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Oracle RAC and ASM
- Knowledge of Oracle installations, upgrades, configurations, monitoring, and performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of backup and recovery using RMAN
- Ability to run Oracle databases on Linux
- Ability to set up and administer Oracle 10gAS forms and reports
- Proven programming experience with PL/SQL, DML, DDL
- Skill in SQL performance analysis and tuning
- Skill in database initialization parameter configuration
- Ability to troubleshoot database issues and provide resolutions; superior problem-solving skills
- Ability to monitor and analyze tool usage
- Ability to manage the delivery of projects on-time and within budget
- Ability to work independently and in team environment
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum five years of hands-on DBA experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Prefer Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Information Technology or related field
