Enterprise User Access Management is part of the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) in American Express Technologies (AET) and is responsible for the management of user access processes and controls that ensure our employee, contractor, and vendor partners have the appropriate access to our systems and applications. The team provides consultation and strategic recommendations to internal business partners, customers, and vendors in assessing IT risks and mitigating controls to protect corporate information assets and to ensure least privileged access according to policy.
This position is a lead level professional role, working under general direction of the IT Risk and Information Security Director. Primary focus is on delivery of information security services/processes designed to effectively manage user access to the company's systems and information. The Lead Business Analyst works directly with our internal business partners across the company to analyze organizations, business functions, and access requirements. Leveraging the latest capabilities in Identity and Access Management, you will lead teams to engineer business and application roles that appropriately manage user access to corporate systems and data.
Responsibilities include:
* Facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and information technology
* Guides and oversees business role analysis and design activities across the enterprise
* Responsible for constructing and maintaining the knowledge base of business capability in terms of business information and processes as it relates to business role creation
* Leads joint initiatives with multiple businesses for business role implementation
* Leads the analysis of business needs and access requirements to design a business role structure that supports the migration of business users to role based access
* Participates in business data analysis and role development for controlling access to the company's key application systems
* Contributes to the definition, assessment, and governance of process, procedures, and controls for identity and user access management; Specifically, develops and enhances process and procedure for enterprise and business role management
* Performs as a subject matter expert for Identity and Access Management and Role Management, in particular
* Works with technology and business partners across business functions and processes to ensure alignment, understanding, and ongoing communication on business role analysis, design, and implementation
* Consults, reviews, and ensures understanding of user access policy, standards, and procedures across the enterprise
* Contributes to the evaluation and introduction of applications, tools, and systems related to Identity and Access Management
* May participate as subject matter expert, or lead multiple moderately complex initiatives
* Works individually and with teams on both structured and unstructured assignments; May lead other team members in specific work activities
Qualifications
* Typically possesses prior relevant professional work experience in business requirements and analysis, technical architecture development and delivery, and problem identification and resolution, with exposure to data, technical, and solution architectures
* Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience implementing identity and access management programs, and facilitating business adoption of role based access controls
* Familiarity and expertise with 1 or more of the latest IAM platforms; In particular, SailPoint IIQ
* May be a recognized industry expert in functional domain, for example, identity and access management, customer service, credit authorizations, etc.
* Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology, and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools
* Highly developed communication skills
* Superior skills in organizing, managing, and interpreting data
* Excellent time management skills; Ability to prioritize and multi-task
* Demonstrated knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (ie, PCI, ISO, COBIT, COSO) preferred
* Professional certification (eg, CBAP, ITIL, CISM, PMP, CISA, etc.) a plus
* Typically holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or has equivalent work experience
