Description
Enterprise Shared Services portfolio primarily supports major development initiatives on the mobile wallet, Cards and Digital Communication platform. The portfolio also enables core digital capabilities across the enterprise for all channels As a Lead Technical Architect, the candidate will be responsible for hands on development and providing technical direction of platform(s) or set of applications, within a portfolio, providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value. Plays an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support the platform(s) or set of applications, in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency. Works with Technical and Business Architects to ensure developments support the business and IT strategic plan. Conducts POCs and Product evaluations. Provide recommendations on tool and products for efficient time to market delivery. Provide solutions to reduce Technology Consumption Management, Total Cost of Ownership and identifying re-engineering opportunities including resource optimization.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage the architecture, design and development of complex program or a logical grouping of projects
- Works with the Directors of Business and Technical Architecture to identify technical solutions and business process improvements in support of the business and IT strategic direction
- Hands on development in mobile, web and database technologies
- Reviews estimates for software development to ensure quality and accuracy
- Interacts with business partners to share and direct architecture practices that may affect business solution delivery
- Lead and provide technical leadership to technical leads, 5-20 developers in geographically dispersed location (US, INDIA, UK)
- Ensures that platform(s) supported meets the business, technical and infrastructure needs by over-seeing the health and well-being of the technical infrastructure including performance and efficiency
- Perform research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform. Responsible for setting up and driving architectural design and code reviews
- Ensures that platform(s) supported meets the business, technical and infrastructure needs by over-seeing the health and well-being of the technical infrastructure
- Delegate to employee and Vendor developers, Senior Programmer Analysts and/or Programmers, and monitors performance across resource channels
- Provide hands-on technical expertise/governance on all aspects of implementation or third-party software integration

Qualifications

Must hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or has equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of professional work experience including managing large development projects in large organizations
- Must have worked on critical enterprise applications serving multiple channels, clients and markets requiring high availability and performance
- Experience in J2EE/JAVA/XML technologies, Mobile, IBM WebSphere Application Server, messaging technologies and relational databases like Oracle, IBM DB2 required
- Hands on experience in developing large scale enterprise high volume and performant SOA application a must.
- Must have architected, performed detailed design and deployed critical JAVA/J2EE applications. Experience across industry vertical and domains a plus.
- Extensive experience using systems analysis and design methodology and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools including OOAD and UML 2.0 a must.
- Understanding and knowledge of Mobile technologies a plus
- Knowledge and hands on experience in using ESB and SOA products including IBM DataPower, Websphere ESB or Oracle ESB a plus
- Must have experience in multiple IT disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical and solution), issues and trends.
- Working knowledge of industry standards related to information security a plus
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman a plus.
- Must have work experience on Windows platform. Exposure to multiple platforms including Unix a plus
- Knowledge of industry standard project execution methodologies like Agile/SCRUM, Waterfall, RUP and Iterative a must
- Training and Certification on Architectural Frameworks like TOGAF, SOA, Mobile and Java/J2EE technologies, IBM DB2, Agile/SCRUM execution methodologies a plus
- Must be enthusiastic, self motivated and possess strong leader qualities
