Lead Technical Architect - Integration Services-13005480
Description
Responsible for the end to end SOA Technical Architecture and solution for all Middleware and SOA related capabilities across the enterprise including Enterprise Service Bus, Orchestration, Middleware Messaging, Process Management, Rules Management and Enterprise Registry and Repository. Works with Technical and Business Architects to ensure developments support the business and IT strategic plan.
* Provide guidance on SOA related matters such as architectural assessment of platforms, products and solutions toward enabling optimal SOA capabilities for AXP
* Conduct research on industry trends, emerging practices, tools and solutions for SOA related implementations
* Assess a solution or product's fit for AXP using existing domain, infrastructure, standards, and policy definitions
* Technical writing of standards, prescriptions, guidelines, and best practices, and presentation of content articulating positions and recommendations
* Collaborate with TS&T teams, Business Application Development teams, vendor teams, portfolio architects and engineers to enable implementation of enterprise SOA technical strategy
* Promotes continued improvement and works to define process improvement initiatives
* Provides architectural governance, reviewing projects to ensure alignment to architectural and technical strategy
Qualifications
* 10+ years of SOA and Middleware experience in a large enterprise
* 5+ years of hands on experience with multiple major SOA and Middleware technologies (Messaging, Web Services, Event based)
* Deep technical knowledge of Mainframe, mid-range systems, integration technologies and appliances, specifically, IBM WebSphere Datapower, IBM WebSphere Message Broker, IBM WebSphere MQ, SOA Software Service Manager and Repository Manager, and Pegasystems PRPC.
* Expert understanding of the SOA and Middleware industry, including trends, emerging technologies, concepts, key vendors, etc.
* Knowledge of governance processes both within American Express today and industry standard best practices
* Solid background in application design, development, implementation, delivery and support
* Thorough understanding of connectivity and integration solutions, engineering and system management
* In-depth knowledge of security architecture, engineering and monitoring
* In-depth knowledge of performance, tuning and monitoring of SOA and Middleware solutions
* Expert writing and presentation skills to technical audience including demonstrated experience in writing and reviewing prescriptive guidance on technical architecture and design principles
* Ability to drive results in collaboration with multiple stakeholders
* Customer focused; builds and leverages relationships
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Engineering disciplines
* AXP experience in the SOA and Middleware environment a plus
* Familiarity with TOGAF, ITIL, or similar industry frameworks
* Proven collaboration skills along with the ability to influence without authority
* Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to manage a wide range of technology partner and external customer expectations
* In depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise with Technology Solution Delivery Lifecycle methodology and tools
