Lead Technical Architect - SOA-13012033
Description
The Integration Architecture & Services team establishes and manages standard technologies for SOA and Middleware related platforms across the enterprise including B2B Integrations, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Middleware Messaging, and Enterprise Registry and Repository for services. This is an integral role in building and enhancing infrastructures along with enterprise services in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency for SOA and Middleware related platforms.
Responsible for the technical direction of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform and supporting technologies across the enterprise including Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), B2B Integrations, Orchestration, Middleware Messaging, Event Processing, and Enterprise Registry and Repository for services. Works with the application teams to architect and design technical components of the SOA platform and manage the day-to-day operations of the deployed instances. This is an integral role in building and enhancing infrastructure in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency for all SOA and Middleware related platforms.
* Provide thought leadership for SOA projects
* Assist in defining, evaluating and enabling optimal SOA capabilities for AXP
* Help manage SOA related product roadmaps and standards
* Supports both Agile and Waterfall development processes, collaborating effectively across multiple, cross-functional teams to execute on milestones and deliverables in a timely manner
* Coordinates with SOA and Middleware product vendors to perform discovery, research, and evaluation of technical solutions and ensure overall service level quality controls for the product, support, and supplier execution
* Collaborates across multiple teams' architects, engineers and developers to maintain enterprise SOA technical strategy
* Collaborates with leaders to ensure that all SOA activities are in support of the business strategies, technology strategies and overall SOA Transformation program goals
* Ensures that the engineered environment meets the specification in terms of business requirements, application design and infrastructure requirements, ie accountable for the performance and efficiency of SOA platforms and applications
* Participate in strategic assessments, governance and project reviews
* Clearly communicates SOA program strategy and progress to stakeholders
* Promotes continued improvement and work to define process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Engineering disciplines
* 5+ years of SOA and Middleware experience in a large enterprise
* 5+ years of hands on experience with multiple major SOA and Middleware technologies
* Deep technical knowledge of mid-range systems, mainframe, integration technologies and appliances, specifically, IBM WebSphere DataPower, IBM WebSphere Message Broker, etc
* Understanding of the SOA and Middleware industry, including trends, emerging technologies, concepts, key vendors, etc.
* Knowledge of SOA governance processes and industry standard best practices
* Solid background in application design, development, implementation, delivery and support
* Thorough understanding of connectivity and integration solutions, engineering and system management
* In-depth knowledge of security architecture, engineering and monitoring
* In-depth knowledge of performance, tuning and monitoring of technical solutions
* Demonstrated relationship management experience at all levels across both Business and Technologies organizations
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Engineering disciplines
* Familiarity with TOGAF, ITIL, or similar industry frameworks
* Proven collaboration skills along with the ability to influence without authority
* Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to manage a wide range of technology partner and external customer expectations
* In depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise with Technology Solution Delivery Lifecycle methodology and tools
* Demonstrates ability to think strategically and tactically
