QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:
The Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) is responsible for managing a $30 billion dollar investment fund and providing retirement, long-term disability, and other benefits to its members. The Technology Services Division of the ASRS is seeking an enthusiastic and self-directed Quality Assurance Engineer to:
- Function as leader for Quality Assurance Automation Team providing technical guidance and support
- Perform functional, system, security and performance testing
- Review requirements/user stories for testability to ensure applications can be tested as designed
- Calculate testing effort requirement estimates; Creating and executing test plans and cases including automated scripts, recording defects, and communicating test results to various teams
This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Proven ability to lead the Automation testing efforts using tools like Selenium, QTP, TestPartner
- Analyzing business unit requirements/user stories and developing appropriate test cases
- Reviewing requirements for testability to ensure applications can be tested as designed
- Calculating testing effort requirement estimates
- Creating and executing test plans and cases including automated scripts, recording defects, and communicating test results to various teams
- Functioning as team leader for Quality Assurance Team providing technical guidance and support, and performs duties of Quality Assurance Manager as needed
- Working with users and developers to resolve issues to make the application production ready
- Coordinating and conducting user acceptance testing
- Providing accurate resource planning estimates in terms of testing effort required to support agency release plan
- Performing functional, system, security and performance testing
- Ability to think outside the box and work with minimal supervision/direction.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Ideal candidates will have 5 years of experience in software development and/or testing environments and will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields. Software testing certifications, working in a Scrum/Agile environment, proven experience leading/testing projects, working knowledge of Atlassian JIRA, and Java/Groovy knowledge are also desirable.
