Description

The Intelligent System Group (ISG) is looking for a senior software application engineer responsible for enabling and supporting the Xeon PHI and GEN graphics compute programming. This role will require you to travel to customer sites and respond to customer requests for assistance porting, debugging, performance tuning and application optimization. You will support customer's with existing Xeon PHI based designs, as well as provide technical enabling and guidance to help the segments secure future design wins. Your multithreaded software development and optimization skills, formal education, experience, judgment, and communication ability will be critical in developing solutions and supporting customers. Often, you will work with marketing managers, field engineers and sales representatives to help resolve customer's technical questions and issues, and participate in customer visits and presentations. The role will also involve interacting with a multitude of different groups within Intel.

This is an opportunity to apply both technical knowledge and customer enabling skills in a team oriented environment. This team operates in a fluid environment that will enable you to engage in a diverse set of responsibilities in support of Intel's Xeon PHI and GEN graphics for compute workloads.

The Candidate's responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:
- Travelling to customer sites and responding to customer requests for assistance porting, debugging, performance tuning and application optimization
- Directly engaging customers to provide pre and post sales technical support to ensure customer Time to Market (TTM) production ramp
- Support and influence customer SW developers during all phases of SW development cycle incl. feature definition, project setup, project execution, tech support for go-to-market
- Replicating and debugging customer reported issues by identifying code level issues and proposing changes to customer
- Providing technical training, consultation, and hands-on assistance to customer SW developers in all areas of their Xeon PHI design and GEN graphics for compute
- Developing and delivering training material for technical field training events
-Ability to travel to customer facilities and remain onsite until critical issues are resolved

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum qualifications:

The candidate should possess a Master's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, and:
-6+ years of experience directly supporting customers and resolving issues with their IA based designs
-6+ years of experience developing with Intel x86 architecture and IA platforms
-6+ years of experience with application development on Linux and windows environments
-6+ years of experience programming in C and C++ for Embedded systems
-3+ years of experience developing and optimizing multithreaded applications
-3+ years of experience performance tuning experience and knowledge of performance tuning software

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with CILK/OpenCL/MPI/OpenMP is desired
-Solid experience with Intel IPP, VTune, ITP tools
-Experience in automated and manual test development
-In-depth understanding of the software release and validation processes
-Deep experience in software debug, optimization and benchmarking
-Proven verbal and written communication skills in English
-Ability to listen, understand and respond professionally to customers, including strong technical writing and presentation skills
