Systems Administrator Intern - 718333
Description
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, upgrading, testing, troubleshooting and recycling of UNIX/Windows computer Servers in a distributed computing environment. Monitors usage, load and performance of remote or locally sited servers. Executes production processes. Provides first level support for customer purchased services. Installs and tests operating systems, databases and/or supported enterprise applications. Troubleshoots for errors, performs recovery steps remotely or on site. Researches, recommends and/or implements system enhancements that will improve server/OS/application reliability, security and performance. May formulate, recommend and/or monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Trains personnel on system usage.
Qualifications
You must be a student enrolled in a graduate degree program from an accredited college or university to apply for this position. Prefer CS/CE or equivalent degree. You should possess a relevant educational qualification with previous experience programming on LINUX and/or UNIX systems. Additional qualifications include:
- Administration of the Engineering Computing UNIX and Windows environments
- Automation of tasks through programming in PERL, VB scripting, and web programming
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Knowledge of PC hardware components, OS, Virtualization and Cloud
- Programming skills in Python, PERL, C++, Visual Basic, and Java would be an added advantage.
