Johnson & Johnson Application Services is currently recruiting for an IT Manager, ABAP Architect and Integration Leader (ERP/APO). This position is based in Piscataway, NJ and may require up to 40% domestic travel.

Johnson and Johnson - Application Services has an opening for an IT Manager, ABAP Architect/Integration Leader (ERP/APO). This position has full management responsibilities of all SAP ERP and APO development deliverables, as well as business integration for a new project initiative within J&J. The primary goal of this position is to partner with another J&J IT manager to manage the development cross-projects and base business which require managing least 14 consultant resources to the deliver all project deliverables on time and within budget, while providing base business support. The IT manager will also partner with other functional managers and consultants to provide clear direction governing best development practices in the SAP ERP/APO space. This position will be part of a global organization responsible for deploying and supporting SAP solutions globally. Business travel (domestic) is required approximately 40% of the time.
Responsibilities of the IT Manager include the following (Essential functions and % of time): Development Execution Leadership (33%) - Partner with the offshore development leader and onsite architects to collect deliverable status, identify resource performance gaps, enforce development process and manage ramp up or ramp down scenarios; Create project estimates and resource plan including cost proposal for the project execution (development deliverables only); Participate in project PMO status meeting to provide updates on the status of the development deliverables including the overall status of the Report, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements and Forms; Manage project expectations given the high demand and limited timeline to fulfil it; Work scheduling, prioritizing and offshore coordination. Integration Leadership (33%) - Act as a point contact to coordinate dependencies with other teams; Act as a leader to help drive cross-functional issues to completion - to bring functional teams together in order to solve cross-functional design challenges/issues. Development Architect (34%) - Provide technical guidance to functional teams; Act as an overall architect for complex items (provide high level technical approach for complex items); Enforce adherence of enterprise architecture standards; Enforce the existing development standards and guiding principles; Work with other architect managers to ensure preservation and adaptation of global processes; Participate and provide input on change control meetings; Accountable for documentation deliverables associated with a particular project roll out (troubleshooting guide, known issues notes, work instructions, etc.); Approve technical specifications for development.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree is required. Previous development management experience is required. A minimum of 9 years of IT experience is required. A minimum of 7 years of SAP implementation experience is required. A solid technical background mainly in the area of ABAP development with some exposure in the supply chain business processes is required
Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills are required. Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills are required. Proven ability to influence/collaborate to get to results is required. Ability to work independently with little or no management is required. Ability to identify risk areas and take action even if those areas fall outside the regular management scope boundaries (to influence other managers or directors on dependent areas) is required.
Proven ability to influence/collaborate to get to results is required. Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills are required. Experience working with multiple franchises and sectors in a highly matrixed environment is preferred.. Experience creating resource plan and work estimates for software development components is required. Prior experience creating transition work plans and successfully executing them to transition project deployment to normal base business support is required. This position is based in Piscataway, NJ and may require up to 40% domestic travel.
