About the Role and Responsibilities

Location: Plano, TX Or Englewood, CO

About the Role:

McAfee Labs Business Unit is looking for a Software Development Engineer. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem solving skills, have genuine interest in learning new technologies, and have ability to learn quickly. While we are looking for specific experience background, we remain open to speaking with individuals with above qualities.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position the employee will be responsible for helping McAfee products perform in leaders' quadrants through a combination of deep research and efficient security content updates.

In this position, the individual will contribute to development of tools, automation and software that facilitate the following:

Increase of researcher productivity

-
Increase product line efficiency

-
Decrease the amount of time spent sustaining content

-
Work closely to support the content lifecycle of several McAfee product lines in the Messaging and Compliance market space

Support and maintain existing infrastructure & tools as well as invent and develop new ones

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills & Education:

-
Bs or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science

-
3+ years of Software Development work experience or Unix System administration

-
3 years+ (of one of the following or combination of): Ruby, PHP, Python, Perl

-
2+ years of experience with one of the above: MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB

Experience with Automation on Linux (or other Unix based operating systems)

Experience with Developing Web Applications using MVC frameworks

-
Experience with the Agile Development Process

Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
