Our Consumer & Strategic Insights division is growing. We are actively sourcing for a Strategy Development Manager that will support a specific division or work function with various projects. The Strategy Development Manager will work with business leaders to execute business opportunities, develop strategic plans supporting their business units' achievement of sales and profit objectives and ensure effective and accurate communication of customer and business knowledge for various projects. The Strategy Development Manager consults with appropriate Associates in all parts of the Company concerning the development, implementation and analysis of programs; works with other Associates within department and outside of department, eg, Planning and Allocation, Finance, or Marketing, that provide services needed by business areas/leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identifies opportunities and makes timely strategic and tactical recommendations to Business Leaders to increase sales, profit, and market share for assigned business areas.
Supports efforts, assists in team facilitation as necessary, and recommends methods for executing strategies to grow business in line with long and short range plans on behalf of assigned business area.
Identifies, coordinates, and performs critical analyses used by business leaders in the development of strategic and tactical plans, including Long & Short Range Plans and the Semi-Annual Business Reviews.
Assists in the design and execution of research projects, developing implications of research, and communicating results to clients.
Participates on task forces, ad hoc committees, and other meetings related to assigned projects or business areas, as requested or necessary; provides project management and facilitation skills in support of stated efforts.
Supports activities within department for assigned business areas, including customer research, competitor research, and analysis.
Provides leadership on company-wide strategic planning processes as assigned.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
Bachelors degree in business or analytics preferred. MBA desired.
Minimum of six years of progressively responsible business experience, preferably in retail.
Experience in project management is a prerequisite, as is experience in working with senior management.
Advanced communication, decision-making, organization, and relationship building skills required.
Demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects, often on subjects of a highly sensitive or confidential nature.
Track record of speaking confidently and knowledgeably on assigned topic in various settings; influencing without formal authority.
Be known for being innovative in thinking and approach.
