Exciting new position available for Sr. Technical Trainer. Technical Trainer Leading telecom company looking for Sr. Technical Trainer that will, under general supervision, conducts facility or on-site training on the operation, administration, supervision, maintenance and installation of P25 LMR products for customers and employees. Sets up and maintains training facility equipment. Assists with the development and upkeep of training materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provides technical training to customers and in-house personnel as it relates to the operation, administration, supervision, maintenance & installation of all existing and future P25 LMR products.
-Travels to customer sites to prepare training environment, present training classes, and provide technical support.
-Provides in-house or on-site technical product support to customers and employees.
-Provides assistance to internal departments, such as bid responses and technical presentations.
-Assist with curriculum maintenance, updates, and development on P25 LMR products and upgrades.
-Provides input or suggestions for editing existing training materials or technical manuals.
-Communicates with internal personnel to resolve technical questions, discuss technical customer concerns and to stay current with technical knowledge.
-Reports any problems or unresolved customer issues in an expedient manner.
-Works to maintain and improve technical knowledge and instruction skills by reading appropriate technical literature and by attending training.
-Functions as a technical resource to P25 LMR personnel.
-Prepares reports following Customer training sessions.
-Reports to the P25 LMR Training Manager.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
-Technical knowledge of computer hardware and related peripheral equipment.
-Technical PC skills with Windows platforms and networks.
-Ability to conduct training on P25 LMR production software and hardware.
-Displays instructional delivery skills.
-Explains technical concepts clearly.
-Adapts material to audience needs.
-Responds to questions and concerns.
-Evaluates program effectiveness.
Additionally:
-BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
-Fluent in English. Fluent in French is highly desirable.
-Experience with Public Safety communications and/or IP networks.
-Minimum of 2 years technical training/teaching experience in technical environment.
-Courseware development experience.
-Proficient technical knowledge of computer hardware and related peripheral equipment.
-Proficient technical PC skills with windows-based software and networks.
-Direct customer experience in all types of situations.
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
-Ability to work independently, as well as with others.
-Excellent presentation skills.
-Ability to work the required hours for the position, including extensive travel and occasional travel and training class set up on weekends.
-Experience with telephony and/or telecommunications equipment desirable.
