About the Role and Responsibilities

Location: Plano, TX

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and maintain multiple virtual environments worldwide
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues in the environment, working with external vendors as necessary
- Perform necessary updates at least quarterly during non-business hour maintenance windows
- 24x7 availability
- Provide training to new and existing users
- Create documentation for virtual environments and their assets
- Provide clear communication to user base on updates and status of virtual environments
- Build virtual machine templates for use by end users
- Perform capacity planning to meet future needs of virtual environments

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills & Education:

- Layer 2 Cisco switching including management of VLANs, trunking, and STP experience required
- Layer 3 switching including basic routing using static routes and virtual VLAN interfaces experience required
- Linux operating systems experience required
- Windows server operating systems experience required
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Experience in network, system, or storage administration of a production environment preferred
- Experience with VMware data center virtualization, including vSphere, vCloud, or vCenter a big plus
