Network Support Consultant needed for Cloud Services Startup. Network Support Consultant We are Boston's premier IT Solutions startup. We utilize our talented team of engineers to create best in class Cloud Services to businesses around the world. We are currently looking to add another bright, creative and talented individual to our team.
The Network Support Engineer must be familiar with supporting Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, MAC OS X, and Linux. They will work directly with our technical staff members and our executives as frontline support to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-First line of support for telephone calls and e-mail requests for technical support.
-Manage service desk assignments, ensuring tickets are properly prioritized and addressed in a timely manner.
-Ensure that open service tickets are escalated and addressed appropriately.
-Communicate steps taken during troubleshooting and resolutions through clear non-technical communication, or by utilizing the appropriate level of technical references.
-Have a sense of urgency when resolving all customer issues.
-Occasional travel to customer sites to perform support.
-Actively monitor status of server and network health at various client sites.
-Maintain documentation and auditing policies and procedures, user guides, system configuration management and diagramming (using VISIO).
-Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
-2+ years experience in the field (MSP experience preferred).
- BachelorĂ¢â‚¬ s Degree desired.
-Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills proving all communication is clear, effective and timely.
-Possess excellent customer service skills.
-Ability to work both independently and as a team.
-Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.
-Ability to diagnose, research and solve technical problems independently.
-Sound judgment to escalate issues appropriately.
-Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
-Possess a go-getter mentality.
-Desire to pursue technical certifications.
Must be proficient in the following:
Windows XP, Vista, 7./Mac OSX 10.4+/Linux/Microsoft Windows Servers 2003, 2008/Microsoft Office 2007/2010 Applications/Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory/Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010.
