Job Description: Solutions Architect - Healthcare IT
CGI is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to support a team in designing technical solutions for existing and prospective customers. The position will benefit from a candidate skilled in aligning corporate capability with customer demand - bridging both business and technology and providing subject matter expertise from a consulting perspective.
The candidate's skills will be leveraged exclusively within the healthcare and human services setting. Experience surrounding healthcare's use of business intelligence, enterprise/cross enterprise data movement and systems development and integration is highly desired.
The candidate must be familiar with SDLC processes. At least five years of experience in a leadership position is required along with excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
Position can be based anywhere, but will include extensive travel (75%-80%) as there are multiple potential projects and clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading and or supporting creation of the solution proposal, including the overall framework, delivery model, and operating model.
- Identifying potential gaps between company services and RFP (Request for Proposal) requirements. Work with other SME's to bridge and close those gaps.
- Determining infrastructure and application solution costs and cost alternatives according to company and client financial targets.
- Developing messaging for proposal responses that represent compelling value propositions to customers and differentiate CGI from competitors.
- Identifying performance improvement opportunities for Solution Realization (service transformation)
- Collaboration with or leading Services transition/transformation planning activities
- Assisting the development and evolution of future state of healthcare services offerings/capabilities to meet changing market demands
- Calculating total cost of ownership of technology components and complete platforms
- Understanding interrelationships and impacts of systems and applications upon the enterprise wide technical environment
- Ensuring solutions are of high quality, high performance and scalable
- Maintaining a current knowledge of the technology industry and determining the impact of hardware and/or software upgrades on new and existing applications
-Abreast of the emerging technologies and trends and their applicability to healthcare industry
-Have a strong understanding of recent healthcare reform law and keep up with changes that might affect business standards.
-Developing visual EA models that support leadership understanding and governance of technology principles and roadmaps
-Providing expertise in infrastructure hardware and software evaluation, selection and implementation
-Developing and managing key internal/external client relationships across sphere of influence, including situations in which no relationship previously existed.
-Participating in cross-area/function business challenges and co-ordinates at a senior level the work of own group/function with that of other areas.
Essential
Skills:
- High level of knowledge in healthcare IT in a government setting.
- In Depth understanding of IT solutions for MMIS, EHR, HIE, HIX and Healthcare reform initiatives.
- Sales engineering and solutions design and pricing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills must be proficient developing and delivering presentations on solution and business case/value to senior managers.
- 5-10 years of experience managing multi-site delivery of application and infrastructure services.
- Ability to develop shared service offerings in an IT service provider environment.
- Experience reviewing RFPs and writing proposals.
- Experience managing and working with technical architects.
