Position Description

This position supports the AIX operating systems. Responsibilities include daily production support for the software and hardware infrastructure and mentoring of junior employees. This individual will support the infrastructure that is the base on which our customer sales and service applications are built. These individuals will deal with a P-Series hardware platforms, AIX operating systems, and complex cross platform solutions. They will be responsible for installing, maintaining, tuning, debugging, and performing the daily administration to keep the First Citizens Bank computer systems running.

Position maybe filled as an Systems Engineer I or Systems Engineer II depending upon experience of the selected candidate.

Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Associates Degree and a minimum of 2 years work experience as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 1 years working as an AIX/Unix Operating Systems Administrator/Engineer.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years work experience as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 1 year working as an AIX/Unix Operating Systems Administrator/Engineer.

Additional Requirements:
AIX Network Installation Manager experience
AIX 5.3 - 6.1 in a virtual environment experience
HMC/VIO experience
HACMP experience
Scripting Languages experience
Ability to provide 24 hr/7 day per week on-call support on a rotating basis

Other Preferred Qualifications:
Linux and/or Windows operating systems experience
Project Management experience
Customer Contact across all levels
TSM experience
Network TCP/IP experience
