The MSCIS (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information and Services) Information Solutions Architecture team is looking for a Solution Architect with a passion for developing solution architectures that enable future capabilities in our supply chain space. This person will work closely with business operations, Solution Managers, Program Managers, Information Architects, and Developers to assess solution needs and develop conceptual, logical, and physical information models that align and focus the organization on the next generation of transactional solutions to support Microsoft's World Wide Supply Chain. Strong collaboration with our business clients, Solution Managers, Program Managers, Information Architects, and Developers to understand and synthesize business requirements into a systems solution that will leverage existing architecture and software where possible is key to success.
The right candidate has a passion for IT and business process excellence, embracing and adapting to rapid change related to emerging business strategies. He or she understands how to manage change at Microsoft through influence and collaboration, effectively managing complexity.
This role requires extensive cross-group collaboration, the ability to communicate at multiple levels of abstraction to different audiences; Strong analytical skills and deep knowledge of general conceptual and logical entity relationship information modeling techniques; Extensive knowledge and experience in dimensional modeling leading to effective Business Intelligence solutions
General Responsibilities:
Be directly accountable for current and future state architecture for the manufacturing and supply chain business (business, application, information and infrastructure)
Develop an implementation plan for key aspects of enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies
Lead analysis of the current architecture to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
Work in a collaborative environment with Business, Information, Solution and Infrastructure architects to create a coherent architecture roadmap for the MSC segment
Improve decision-making processes thru the infusion of architectural artifacts into key agile processes
Develop, improve, validate, and use tools to facilitate enterprise architecture efforts
Work with other solution architects across business segments to identify needed platform investments and drive these investment needs into the enterprise platform portfolio
Technical Responsibilities:
Provide architectural leadership, guidance, and support in the deployment of complex solutions in global distributed computing environments
Ensure overall ecosystem level integrity of solutions
Business-Related and Strategic Planning Responsibilities
Communicate and collaborate with top level executives and development teams
Assist development and alignment to roadmap and strategy
Develop and maintain global technology roadmaps and application evolution plans
Lead the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers and requirements that drive the future state architecture

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Approximately 10-15 years of related experience in delivery of IT solutions
- BA/BS degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- TOGAF, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, SPARX and UML
