The SalesIT sub-process unit (also called Lead-to-Order or L2O) within Sales & Marketing IT (SMIT) is looking for a senior leader to deliver software solutions to SMSG. The role is titled Delivery Manager who will be the single accountable owner for the end to end delivery of a project or set of projects, with accountability and authority to drive and implement decisions that enable successful delivery. This role will report to the Lead Delivery Manager of SalesIT.

Key job functions include:
Accountability for all aspects of plan, deliver and operate, including direction and integration of Solution Management, Engineering and Service Engineering employees and vendors for successful portfolio delivery.
Accountability and responsibility for the end to end project management tasks which include the project scope, schedule, and budget.
Responsibility for all MSIT based resources assigned to the project and the de facto day-to-day manager providing direction, feedback, and guidance for the duration of the project.
Ownership of regular communications of program/project updates to the stakeholders including key decisions, risks and issues, and milestones.
Contribution to solution and/or technology strategy of complex program/project scope
Understanding customer and business partner perspective
Evaluation of systems, services, and issues against customer needs and reactions
Execution of business strategy or contribution to business strategy
Ability to influence across the program portfolio within a business process or shared service unit and on customer decisions within the project scope
Definition of transparent schedule of commitments and metrics to consistently meet the implementation goals
Communication of roles, responsibilities, authority, appropriately delegating them throughout the organization leading to timely and effective decision making.
Project execution within a budget, effectively allocating resources to optimize business group results, responsible for accurate forecasts and budget spend.
Drive to foster a climate that supports relationship building and collaboration at all levels throughout the business, which results in improved alignment and innovation.
Drive active partnerships across the business groups and field subsidiaries, which results in improved coordination and alignment and the adoption of best practices.

The Lead to Order (L2O) Solution Delivery Group:

Works hand-in-hand with many internal organizations including SMS&P, EPG, Sales Excellence, and others to shape the company's Sales strategies and implementation plans.
Is a key contributor and knowledge expert that works with other groups from across Microsoft to create, get sponsorship for, and drive cross-company compensation strategies
Manages large, complex, cross organizational initiatives as a single point of contact
Drives overall engagement model across stakeholder groups. This includes governance, determining long term strategy and roadmap, setting of priorities, determining success metrics, managing project and operational costs, as well as proving documentation and status communication.

Key Interactions/Dependencies/Collaboration:

Stakeholders/executives within SMIT in Redmond and India. Enterprise architects in SMIT, UEIT, SESIT, and ISRM. Sub-Process Manager and Delivery Managers across MSIT.

Candidate Profile:

8-12 years of total experience working with or within Enterprise IT organizations
2-3 years leading large scale Line of Business solutions/applications delivery
Provided strong leadership across disciplines and organizational boundaries and proven influencing skills with and without, direct line authority.
Demonstrated success in portfolio management including whole lifecycle (Process Definition thru system Retirement)
Leadership of global teams in successful delivery of both packaged and custom business solutions.
Advance general management competences including analytical problem solving, customer focused innovation, passion for quality, project management, strategic insight and technical excellence.
Required leadership qualities include excellent communication skills and strong cross-group collaboration, in particular the ability to agree ambitious performance goals with internal clients and to agree performance expectations with supporting functions.
Leadership of IT functions in a Fortune 500 environment.
Understanding of SDLC and agile development methodologies
Ability to work through ambiguous situations
Ability to impact and influence executives with competing priorities
Advanced Degree's in Computer Science or MBA preferred
