Job Category: Software Engineering: Development
Location: Redmond, WA, US
Job ID: 836703-111088
Division: Cloud and Enterprise Engineering
Imagine what it takes to deliver a cloud that billions of people rely on.
The Core Azure team develops Microsoft's cloud operating system: Windows Azure. The platform makes it easy for developers to build modern cloud services. It provides a rich app model with high-level abstractions for compute, storage, and networking, so developers can focus on their business logic, not the hardware and IT management details. At the same time, it must scale to millions of nodes and be highly available and fault tolerant.
We seek great development leads with a passion for developing talent, building healthy teams, leading cross-team efforts, and working on large-scale distributed systems. You could lead the development of the Update Engine that manages the upgrades of thousands of Core Azure services every week and enables A/B testing of releases. You could lead the Performance effort, building Analytics and Visualization systems that analyze terabytes of data to identify and solve complex problems spanning the Azure stack.
You will build expertise in engineering cloud services, lead highly visible projects, help advance our architecture, and work with technologies across the stack. You will also recruit strong talent and contribute to our long-term strategy. Being in the core, you will also have a multiplier effect, enabling many teams to build great services. The team is growing rapidly and must scale to ever-harder problems. We depend on our leaders to meet the challenges of tomorrow and are deeply committed to helping them grow.
The cloud will transform computing and enable the rapid growth of devices. Be part of that transformation!
