The Data Platform Team provides a collection of Data products for Storing, Accessing, building Business Intelligence and building business systems. SQL Server is the premier storage product with related technologies represents a multi-billion dollar revenue stream for Microsoft. We support Fortune 500 companies ranging from banking, airline industries, governments and medium to small businesses. We continue to expand the collection of technologies making it more accessible and easier to use and mine data. We are offering our technologies as a service in a hosted environment known as SQL Azure.
Big Data is available now. The next generation of Data Warehouse allows connecting and analyzing Data at rest from different sources, sizes, and types of data. By providing consistent query support, the integration improves rapid development for insights across the data. Complex scenarios where data is created and available in different forms become easier to create and support.
The Quality Team for the Data Platform Organization is looking for an experienced Director of Test to augment its Leadership team. A test strategy for this next generation of Data Warehouse needs to be defined which allows for an initial solid online service offering. Capabilities will continue to be developed and offered as the service is in production. The Quality investments necessary to execute on this type of plan need to be identified.
The individual should have experience with engineering investments which support online services. The individual should have insights into developing quality approaches which are appropriate for measuring service products which need to be highly reliable, performance, scalable, and secure.
Our services need an engineering operations system appropriate for online service which supports a more efficient build to release pipeline and provides monitoring and diagnostics of our hosted services. The individual will should have experience which helps create this type of engineering operations system and team culture.

Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience creating Quality teams and developing Cross Boundary Collaboration.
10+ years of experience as a Test Architect or Test Manager who has helped set the strategic quality direction for server products or services and executed successfully on this direction.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Passion for Quality and building Quality Products, Services and Engineering Systems.
Strategic Insight for creating Engineering Systems for package product as well as services.
Drive for Customer Focused Innovation.
Should have successfully shipped multiple server products as well as services.
Knowledge and experience with Quality engineering for Server and Tools expected.
Knowledge and experience with Quality engineering for services expected.
