Here is your opportunity to play a central role in the direction of Microsoft's high-profile video game business. We need a creative and passionate Games Policy Manager with the vision, discipline and leadership to define, drive and represent Third Party Games Publishing business policy.
Group Overview:
The Third Party Xbox Games Publishing (3PP) group manages the relationship between Xbox game partners and Microsoft to land the best premium titles on our platform and extend the business into emerging entertainment platforms including Xbox 360, Xbox Live, Windows Phone, and Windows.
Role Description:
The 3PP Policy Manager will work with numerous roles within Third Party including senior leadership, portfolio management, account management, business development, and other roles to define, document, and prepare the team on new policies related to the platforms we support. This role will work closely with all levels of the Global Third Party Publishing team, so excellent communication skills and a consistently professional style is a must.
Responsibilities include:
- Staying closely involved with emerging aspects of the business to identify areas where new policies may be required for our publishing partners
- Maintaining consistency and alignment between 3PP and other IEB and non-IEB business group policies
- Defining and articulating policies stemming from new Third Party business initiatives
- Ensuring alignment between policies enforced by 3PP and partner business areas within IEB business
- These policies will span aspects of a variety of platforms, processes, and business areas that 3PP supports
- Organizing and documenting 3PP policies within our central SharePoint site and partner-facing portal
- Educating our Third Party internal teams and publishing partners on new and updated policies
- Owning policy change management for our global 3PP Account Managers, Release Managers, Developer Account Managers and Portfolio Managers
- Representing Third Party Games Publishing policy perspectives to internal business groups when needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Passion for and detailed familiarity with the Xbox 360 Games business
- Experience with defining a concise set of best practices, guidelines, or policies from a broad consensus of sources, roles, and internal teams
- Aptitude for managing expectations across a broad group of stakeholders and perspectives
- Extensive experience collaborating across a myriad of business groups and stakeholders
- Past experience working as a strong individual contributor to develop an intelligent proposal prior to requesting sign off from senior leadership
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate and document complex topics to a variety of business roles
- Ability to organize a breadth of guidelines, policies, and best practices a format that's easily accessible and understandable
