The world is moving to cloud computing. Microsoft is betting the company on Windows Azure as our cloud computing platform. Important steps are been taken to virtualize storage and computing through software, increasing agility, asset utilization, and automated management, while shifting to scale-out, secure, and low cost infrastructure. Our team owns the storage area for Azure platform across public, hybrid and private clouds.

If you really want to be part of an excellent team working with bleeding edge technology and you are passionate about building and running services in the cloud, this is the place to be. We are looking for a senior leader in the organization to understand deeply the most challenging customer workloads, to define the APIs that will enable cloud developers to build scalable services on Azure platform, to drive consistent programming model across a new runtime model for cloud and off premise environments, and to build strong relationships with MS and external teams as they move their services to Azure. Your job will be to attract, retain and grow excellent technical PMs, build teams, own end-to-end critical projects, making sure that all the technical and business constraints are respected, and to interact with a set of key internal and external teams and partners who all need to collaborate to deliver these projects.

You must have a strong customer focus, be able to drive consensus, keep teams focused on priorities and have a passion for building distributed, reliable and scalable solutions. At the same time, there are some very deep technical challenges: you need to be curious, up-to-date with the new trends in the technology world and able to drive the right decisions. You need to be concise, action oriented, a natural leader with strong technical skills that can quickly come up to speed on large problems. You need to have a minimum of 6 years' experience as a Feature PM, Release PM and people's manager. Experience in working with services, APIs, web protocols, SDKs would be great. A degree in Computer Science and other related technical disciplines is recommended for this position.

This is a great growth opportunity, providing frequent cross group and exec visibility as well as responsibility for helping to drive significant improvements on the developer community relationship to Microsoft and Azure specifically.

About the Windows Azure Storage team (WAStore):
WAStore (as described in this SOSP'11 paper ) is built on top of Azure and it is one of the core components of the Azure stack. We had an amazing year this year as we grew 4 times, and we recently crossed the 4 trillion objects stored in our system (as you can read here ). We believe that the right individuals and leaders will bring innovation, will build relevant, and high-quality solutions to satisfy our customers' expectations. So, we value, recognize and invest on our biggest asset, our people.
