We provide Real Time and actionable Business Intelligence to facilitate the long-term strategies employed by our feature teams to help better protect hundreds of millions of consumers.
The Windows Safety Services team is looking for a unique person who can take the controls of the reputation, filtering, analysis, and intelligence systems we've been developing for the past eight years and re-target them, on a daily basis, to cause maximal disruption to Internet Abusers' businesses. You will play a strategic role in our fight against Internet Abuse collaborating closely with research, engineering, business management, strategy, and executive decision-makers developing and applying advanced techniques to turn our petabytes of data into insights and action.
This is a challenging role that requires a broad set of skills, a strong ability to deal with ambiguity, and a drive to win! An ideal candidate will have: demonstrated proficiency at rapid development and prototyping; experience interfacing with large existing systems; an understanding of how the Internet and Internet abuse works; a functional background in statistics and data analysis; and the desire to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment with a team that is proactive, motivated, organized, and responsible.
Specific daily responsibilities include monitoring (or building tools that monitor) the telemetry coming through our reputation and anti-abuse systems; identifying abusers' latest tools and tactics and focusing our existing systems to best counter them; developing ad hoc systems when needed to bridge the gap until new production systems can be brought online; evaluating and advising on the development of proposed anti-abuse systems and data feeds; and working with our applied research and product development teams to shape the future Internet abuse battlefield to our advantage.

Specific Qualifications:
C#/C++ and SQL skills required
Broad experience with machine learning, statistical methods and experimental design
Experience in extracting and manipulating extremely large datasets
Database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience
Experience in data mining and optimization desired
Ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies
Aptitude at working on multiple ambiguous projects simultaneously
Ability to drive decisions based on data
Good communication skills
Good cross-group collaboration skills
Attention to detail and data accuracy
Good instincts on when to dive into details and when staying at higher levels is required
BS Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent with MS or PhD degrees preferred
