If the answer to all of these questions is YES, then the Customer Engineering Team PM could be the next step in your career. We are the voice of the customer for the entire Windows Server and System Center division and participate in planning, pre-release and post release technical activities to ensure that customer perspective is always an integral part of how we build these products and services. Our team works closely with Microsoft's most strategic Server customers around the world. We are looking for a PM to join us that has a strong background in security technologies (eg PKI, Cryptography, Server Hardening) and an interest in architecting and validating the security of Virtualization and Private Cloud solutions.
In this role you will be responsible for managing complex technical engagements with customers. You will regularly deliver structured customer feedback to the Windows Server and System Center product teams to enable future design and development, ensuring that it accurately reflects the requirements of enterprise customers and Hosters. The product teams will view you as a key asset in working with customers and understanding complex datacenter requirements. You will act as both a Microsoft advocate to customers and a customer advocate to the product development teams. You will architect solutions for cutting edge customer deployments, and then capture, document, and share key learning's to the product groups and to the technical community. You will do this by: authoring whitepapers, blogging, tweeting, delivering training and speaking at conferences.
Customers, Hosters, partners and the Microsoft technical field organization will view you as an architectural leader. Working with partners and the field, you will help customers gain knowledge and confidence in Microsoft virtualization solutions and help ensure the success of extremely challenging and cutting edge projects.
Examples of Regular Duties:
Provide aggregated customer feedback to the product group based on experiences working with TAP customers and the field.
Assist in developing and delivering the product group's "best practice" recommendations.
Support broader integration of customer feedback across the customer experience product unit by teaming with other groups both inside and outside the Server and Cloud division.
Engage TAP/Validation customers in a deep, ongoing relationship in order to provide the product groups with an in-depth view of customer requirements.
Work independently and with Services and external partners to manage the technical aspects of customer projects.
Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
5+ years of product development and/or consulting in the enterprise/hosting space.
Experience with core security technologies like PKI, RMS, Cryptography, and authentication protocols including Kerberos and SAML
Server hardening best practices, knowledge of relevant regulatory standards for datacenter compliance (ISO/IEC 27001, HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
Strong knowledge of the SCM (Security Compliance Manager) and the baselines associated with it
Good knowledge in Identity and security concepts around machine and user contexts
Understanding of the broad information security landscape and related technologies
Intimate knowledge of the Microsoft directory services technology stack, including Active Directory Domain Services and Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services, along with a working knowledge of competitive technologies.
The ideal candidate possesses deep technical skills in relevant server technologies but is also capable of working with customers on broader architectural issues.
