THE ROLE
The Enterprise Commerce (ECIT) Engineering Team holds the mission for delivering millions of transactions and one great experience for the volume licensing areas of Microsoft. We are responsible for designing & developing the transactional & reporting systems that manage 60%+ of Microsoft's revenue. We develop and support many of the Microsoft web and Back End applications that support Volume License contract management, benefits, pricing, order acceptance, fulfillment and ecommerce. We are looking for an exceptional, experienced Program Manager to put their endless creativity and dreams to work, driving and managing delivery of key features of our Volume Licensing platform and capabilities. This includes planning, designing, scoping, managing and delivering key capabilities for Microsoft's Order to Fulfillment systems. This position will be a leader of delivery, strategy and Volume Licensing platform direction and demands excellence in strategic thinking, driving for results, operational excellence, cross-division collaboration, and executive maturity.

The ideal candidate should have experience delivering and coordinating large enterprise projects using software engineering best practices such as project scheduling, functional design, resource budgeting, issue/risk management, and cross-division coordination. In addition, the candidate is expected to be an advocate for the development and test disciplines by supporting engineering best practices such as source control management, build automation, unit testing, debugging, issue tracking/bug management, and code reviews. The candidate will also support existing applications responding to emergency needs as well as addressing any outstanding production issues. Prior experience working in information technology teams or in Microsoft IT is a plus. It requires an individual comfortable serving as an advocate for product design and leader of the program management discipline for a functional area within the ECIT Engineering Team and be able to lead an engineering team towards successfully delivering a program that meets the business needs. In addition, the candidate is expected to be a trusted advisor and cross-group leader within the entire ECIT team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven track record of shipping secure, high quality software through all phases of the SDLC product development lifecycle
- A strong computer science foundation
- Outstanding problem solving skills and passion to solve hard problems
- Background in SQL programming at the SQL or ADO.NET layers is preferred
- Experience with n-tier architecture, web security, IIS, SQL Server, ASP.NET, and WCF is preferred
- Knowledge of volume licensing business is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related sciences required
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related sciences preferred
- 7-10+ years of work experience as a Program Manager or Project Manager
